Sustainability and Quality at Weiss Distilling Co. in Detroit

This summer, Michigan Speakeasy is letting you escape into a jungle-themed speakeasy for its Weiss in the Wild event. The bar room is decorated with branches and monkeys hanging from the ceiling, and staff wear safari hats as they pour themed craft cocktails. There’s also a new menu featuring cocktails like the Topsy’s Revenge, a fruity, easy-sip vodka cocktail served in a branded elephant glass.

Weiss is a true distillery, as the team works together as a family to make every bottle of their spirits. Their latest product, Two Faced Blended Straight Bourbon, is a collaboration between Kentucky wheat-based bourbon and a Michigan bourbon made from grain that hails from nearby Detroit City Distillery. The bourbon will be available at the tasting room starting Friday, Aug. 23, as part of a new bourbon flight experience, and it will join the distillery’s permanent lineup of whiskeys and gins.
